The cardboard figures of Pappmone, alias Simone Hübner-Schwinn, are far more than caricatures—they are incisive character studies in three dimensions. From the simplest material—papier-mâché—she creates personalities that surprise with wit, irony, and a keen sense of humanity and interpersonal relationships.

 

Each character tells a story: sometimes quirky, sometimes quiet, sometimes over-the-top, but always with a loving eye for their source material. They are everyday characters, social archetypes, or imaginatively exaggerated individuals – idiosyncratic, charming, and often amusing.
